Snacks are a love language.
I just like snacks. That’s it that’s the story.
Ok just kidding. I’m a Gemini and Mexican and a writer, there’s no way I wasn’t gonna give ya’ll a whole long story. I built my first meat and cheese board like a zillion years ago when my mami and I would make a giant production out of Awards season. We’d make fancy snacks, drink fancy wine, and judge priceless gowns and flawless hair & makeup from our couch in pajamas with three day hair and bad table manners.
The Mexican mom in me loves feeding people. The extrovert Gemini in me loves entertaining. Grazing boards and tables are the lovechild of the two, I think. Over the last few years (once I got out of the fog of postpartum and babies and things) I really started getting intentional with my craft, bringing a tray to any and every event I was invited to.
The COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 was where things really got spicy for me, cheesily speaking. I figured that snack boards were the perfect way to make a Friday feel special again, especially when for so many people time felt made up and the rules didn’t matter. Once word got out, Friday was the happening snack box night each and every week.
Once folks started gathering again, boards slowly made a comeback. And now, WEDDINGS! PARTIES! ALL THE THINGS! (But you needn’t wait for a special occasion to grab a snack to go from the shop - Thursday through Sunday!)
Amor Y Queso is the natural progression of my love language/hobby. I love making your gatherings more foodie. Tag me in. Let me bring a little razzle dazzle to your day.
